Post-run oranges

Remember those half-time orange slices at football games? Having avoided such extracurricular activities at all costs, I don't. But I did see them on TV ads and the like... from my couch.

Anyway, I wondered what the deal was with orange slices after exercise and, well-stocked with citrus fruits for my cold, I tucked into the most delicious orange I have ever tasted.

Maybe the run made it taste better. Maybe some buyer at Tesco struck lucky with a supplier. I don't know. But it was such a satisfying and refreshing post-run snack that I'd highly recommend it.

And it makes sense: oranges are a one-stop shop for replenishing energy, fluids and vitamin C.

Sometimes the little discoveries are the best.
